Statement of Faith
The resources created by Sown in Faith Press are grounded in the following biblical beliefs.
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God. Scripture is true and provides the foundation for what we believe, how we live, and what we teach.
2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:105
God
We believe there is one true God who eternally exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is holy, loving, just, all-powerful, all-knowing, and worthy of all worship.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, ascended into heaven, and will return.
John 1:1–14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:9–11
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God. He convicts people of sin, gives new life to those who trust in Christ, lives within believers, and helps them understand Scripture and grow in obedience to God.
John 14:16–17, 26; John 16:8; Galatians 5:22–23
Humanity, Identity, Marriage, and Sexuality
We believe every person is created in the image of God and possesses inherent worth and dignity. God created humanity as male and female, and a person’s biological sex is a purposeful part of God’s design.
We believe God established marriage as a covenant relationship between one man and one woman. Sexual intimacy is a gift from God intended for marriage, and His design for sexuality is good, holy, and worthy of obedience.
We believe every person has sinned and is in need of God’s grace and salvation. Therefore, we are called to speak biblical truth with humility and love and to treat every person with compassion, dignity, and respect.
Genesis 1:27; Genesis 2:18–24; Matthew 19:4–6; Romans 3:23; 1 Corinthians 6:18–20; Ephesians 4:15
Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. It cannot be earned through good works. Through Christ’s death and resurrection, all who trust in Him receive forgiveness, new life, and the promise of eternity with God.
John 3:16; Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10
The Church
We believe the Church is made up of all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ. Believers are called to gather, worship, pray, learn from God’s Word, serve one another, and share the gospel with the world.
Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:42; 1 Corinthians 12:27
Christian Life
We believe followers of Jesus are called to love God and others, obey His Word, demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit, and grow in Christlikeness through the work of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 22:37–39; John 14:15; Galatians 5:22–25
Children and Families
We believe children are created in the image of God and should be welcomed, valued, protected, and faithfully taught the truth of Scripture.
We believe parents and caregivers hold the primary responsibility for nurturing their children’s faith, and the local church has an important role in supporting families and teaching children as part of the body of Christ.
Deuteronomy 6:5–7; Psalm 78:4; Mark 10:14
Eternity
We believe Jesus Christ will return, the dead will be raised, and every person will stand before God. Those who belong to Christ will live with Him forever in the new creation.
John 5:28–29; Revelation 21:1–5; Revelation 22:12
